Tree Preservation By-law Update

The Town of The Blue Mountains is considering amendments to the current Municipal Tree Preservation By-law 2010-68. The intent of the changes is to extend the scope of the existing By-law to include trees on larger privately owned parcels of land located outside of residential plans of subdivision which do not currently meet the threshold for protection under the current Town or County By-law requirements.

UPDATE: December 2020: The Town of The Blue Mountains and the County of Grey are currently exploring dates in early 2021 to hold a “Virtual” public open house. Information regarding the proposed By-law revisions will be made available to the public on the Town’s website in advance of the Open House to provide an opportunity for members of the public to review the proposed changes and prepare any questions or concerns in advance of the Open House. More information about the format of the Open House will be provided with the Public Notice at such a time that a date has been selected.”
