The purpose of the Water Distribution Master Plan is to evaluate the Town’s long-term water distribution needs and identify a preferred solution to be implemented as required to match the Town’s growth.
Findings of the Water Distribution System Master Plan were presented to Council on May 22, 2019 and at a Public Information Centre held May 29, 2019. Public Consultation is a key component to this study, and the public is invited to review the materials presented at the Public Information Center and provide comments. Comments can be provided on this form and emailed to email@example.com or dropped of at Town Hall (32 Mill St. Thornbury) by June 12, 2019.
The final Master Plan report is anticipated to be presented to Council in the fall of 2019. Once the Master Plan has been received by Council, a Notice of Completion will be issued by the Town for 30-day review.
This study is being conducted according to the requirements of an Approach 1 Master Plan and includes components of Phases 1 and 2 of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment which is an approved process under the Environmental Assessment Act. Only Schedule A and A+ projects are approved through this Master Plan. Additional studies and consultation will be required for Schedule B projects (e.g. storage facilities and pumping stations) and Schedule C projects (e.g. new or expanded water treatment facilities).
