Rural Access to Broadband Internet Technology

The Town's RABIT Task Force is a Task Force of Council for matters related to the development, implementarion and progress monitoring of sustainable solutions for Rural Access Broadband Internet in the Town of The Blue Mountains.

Internet Service Provider Public Information Centre

On February 16, 2021 the RABIT Task Force hosted a Public Information Centre to learn from Internet Service Providers the opportunities and challenges that exist with respect to servicing the Town of The Blue Mountains, and especially the rural areas, with reliable high-speed internet.

*NOTE: Telesat and Gentek also attended but did not provide presentations

The Task Force's current composition is:

  • 2 members of Council, and Mayor as ex-officio
