Parking Enforcement

No vehicle shall be parked, placed or left standing on any street between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. from November 1, 2019 until April 1, 2020

The Town enforces its parking by-laws by issuing tickets to illegally parked vehicles on both public and private property. This type of enforcement is required to maintain legal parking, regulate traffic movement, and ensure public safety.

Cancelling Parking Infraction Notices

Under the majority of circumstances parking tickets cannot be cancelled. A Municipal Law Enforcement Officer who has been designated the authority to cancel parking infraction notices (PINs) may consider doing so provided that one or more of the following criteria has been satisfied:

  • PIN has been issued in error
  • PIN is illegible
  • PIN is not complete in its face
  • Requisite signage (if applicable) related to the offence has not been erected in accordance with the Town’s/County’s  applicable Parking By-law(s) and provisions of the Highway Traffic Act or Regulations
  • PIN has been issued to a vehicle owner who has been issued an Accessible Parking Permit and said Permit has not been displayed in accordance with the by-law
  • PIN has been issued to a vehicle owner who was in the process of transporting a person to whom an Accessible Parking Permit has been issued and said Permit has not been displayed in accordance with the by-law

Pay Your Parking Tickets Here

In an effort to serve you better, the Town is now providing an on-line ticket payment option. Please visit the Paytickets website to pay your ticket online.

Paytickets Troubleshooting

In some cases, a ticket number that begins with a zero must be entered with the zero omitted to be recognized in the Paytickets system.  For example: ticket number '01234' should be entered as '1234'.

Please do not pay a "plate denial" fee on Paytickets.ca. Payments for overdue parking tickets that have resulted in the Ontario Ministry of Transportation's refusal to issue or validate your vehicle permit must be made at a ServiceOntario location, or at the Owen Sound Provincial Offences Court
