Position Description:

We are seeking to fill a grant funded, Library Assistant-Collections Management Intern at the Blue Mountains Library.

Position Overview:

  • Provide direct service to Library patrons and program delivery as required consistent with the policies, practices and procedures of the Library.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

    • Community College Diploma in Library Technician, Masters Degree in Library Studies, or equivalents preferred.
    • Experience in public library work or any equivalent combination of experience and training is desirable.
    • A valid driver’s license.

As a YCW position, the following restrictions must be met by the candidate:

  • Valid DZ driver’s license.

 

Hours of Work: 44-hour work week. Shift work will be required, including weekend and night shift during winter operations as directed by Manager of Roads and Drainage Division

Reporting to the Director of Finance and IT Services, the Utility Account Coordinator is responsible to plan, coordinate, review, and prepare the billing and collecting of over 6,000 utility accounts.

This includes balancing and providing analysis of the utility sub ledger, providing analysis of changing legislation, utility appeal processes, and other utility related matters, as well as updating and maintaining the customer account database, maintaining meter records, and providing a high standard of customer servicing when liaising with other departments and ratepayers.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Requires post-secondary education in accounting - 2 year diploma.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in a municipal finance environment.

  • Must be able to demonstrate strong public relations skills, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to demonstrate strong organizational skills.
  • Condition of Grant Funding:
    • Must be 30 or under at the time of contracting. 
    • May not be full-time in post secondary studies.
