I am pleased to share with you an opportunity that came to our attention last week - to attend 'Gateway' 17 Canada', presented by Alibaba Group, on September 25th, 2017.

Jack Ma, founder of Alibaba Group and members of his team will be at the Enercare Centre, Toronto to help Ontario's businesses learn about the opportunities available in China and to show participants how to access it through Alibaba, a vast e-commerce marketplace.

Alibaba Group operates the world's largest online marketplace with more than US$500 billion in sales across its platform. It is already a gateway for thousands of global brands and retailers as well as millions of small businesses who sell to Chinese consumers.

Participants at Gateway '17 will have the opportunity to:

  • Hear keynote remarks by leading entrepreneurs, including Jack Ma, Executive Chairman of Alibaba Group
  • Learn about the business solutions and resources available through Alibaba to start selling to China
  • Participate in breakout sessions by sector, and learn about consumer trends in China specific to agribusiness, fashion/apparel, everyday goods, and tourism and hospitality sectors
  • Explore the vibrant marketplace expo and connect with existing Alibaba partners and sponsors in e-commerce, finance, sourcing and logistics who can enhance your growth plans and success on Alibaba's marketplaces

Find attached an invitation by Alibaba Group to attend Gateway'17. It includes a special registration offer. In order to take advantage of an early bird registration, please use the code 'Ontario' to receive 50% off your registration through the link at:  by  September 1st , 2017.

I ask that you provide this to any stakeholders from your region that have an interest in selling their tourism products and experiences to Chinese travellers on a ecommerce platform.

And if they act fast, there is an early bird registration discount until Sept 1.

If you or any of your regional stakeholders have questions about the event or if it may be the right fit for them, please feel free to direct them to myself or to OTMPC's Asia specialist, Harvey Hamazaki (cc'd above).
