Town Flags at Half Mast to honour the passing of Town Development Engineering Technologist, Tom Gray

04/08/17

It is with deepest sadness that we honour the passing of our colleague Tom Gray. Tom worked in the Engineering Dept., for Director of Infrastructure and Public Works, Reg Russwurm, from 2008 to 2012. He left for a brief stint to take on a Management role at South Bruce Peninsula. We were lucky enough when we created the Development Engineering Dept. that Tom decided to return to his roots and work for us again. Since the fall of 2015 Tom has been back with us, working with Brian Worsley in the Development Engineering division of the Planning and Development Services Department, ensuring our development projects were successful.

Tom had a long and successful career as an Engineering and Design Technologist. He began his career in private industry and then moved his focus to a municipal career, first working with the Town of Port Elgin and then the City of Owen Sound.

Tom was well loved across the organization and in the community where he lived. He enjoyed his motorcycle and his family time. He was always quick with a joke and developed great friendships across the organization.

We will miss him as a colleague and friend,

Troy Speck, CAO
