Walk in the Footsteps of Tom Thomson

Tom Thomson died 100 years ago and is buried in Leith. To commemorate his life there will be a Graveside Memorial at 2:30 pm on July 21 at the HIstoric Leith Church. It is thought that Tom used to walk along what is now Tom Thomson Lane towards Owen Sound. We invite you to walk in Tom's footsteps from the Historic Leith Church along this extraordinary section of the Tom Thomson Trail which passes Tom’s boyhood home.

Massie Hall Classic Car Show

The Massie Hall Classic Car Show will take place on the athletic field across Veterans Road North from Massie Hall. $5.00 registration fee for cars, pedestrian public entry is free. There will be many door prizes with public voting on favourite cars with trophies awarded at the end of the show. In addition to washroom facilities there will be food available for purchase - Burgers, hotdogs, pop, coffee, and pie.

Larry has published a series of books about the history of the taverns, pubs, and bootleggers of this province. Hanover has an interesting history (did you know a fellow in Hanover was tarred and feathered - literally - because he got drunk and hassled the wrong people?
