Jean Hutchinson, author of Country Midwife: The Story of Elizabeth Harvey Ward, will share the story of Elizabeth Nuhn who delivered over 1,000 babies born in South Grey County between 1924 and 1954. Born in 1884, Elizabeth Harvey was part of a big farm family. In 1903, she married Hazard Ward and they had four daughters. He died while one was still at home. She sold the farm, moved to town and assisted Dr. Milne in his work.
