Important Information about your Utility Bill in case of a Canada Post Service Disruption
As you may know, Canada Post may experience a labour disruption as of July 2, 2016.
Utility Bills for the period of May 1, 2016 to June 30, 2016 are scheduled to be mailed out on July 11, 2016. If a service disruption does occur, you may not receive your bill in the mail as scheduled. However, you are responsible for making payments by the due date.
In order to avoid late payments, we encourage you to consider signing up for e-billing to allow for your utility bills to be sent to you via e-mail.
To register for e-billing, please visit http://www.thebluemountains.ca/ebilling-signup.cfm and complete the form. You will need your 12 digit Utility Account Number as well as a valid email address.
To guarantee your payment is on time, avoid sending payments in the mail. Payment options include:
- In person at Town Hall, 32 Mill Street, Thornbury, ON during office hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays to Fridays, or place in the drop box after hours, located at the main entrance of Town Hall off of Mill Street.
- In person, on-line or by phone through your financial institution. Please contact your financial institution for availability of this service. To set up internet banking, search for us under “blue” and then select “Blue Mountain Town of (Utilities). When keying in the account number, use all 12 digits, leaving out the decimal. Please do not use your Tax Account for Utility Payments.
- Pre-authorized payment - The Town is pleased to offer pre-authorized payment options. Please complete the Utility Pre-Authorized Payment Form at http://www.thebluemountains.ca/public_docs/documents/Pre-Authorized%20Payment%20Form%20-%20Utilities.pdf and drop it off in person or fax (519-599-2474) it to the Town office along with a void cheque.
