2015 Water Financial Plan
The Safe Water Drinking Act, 2002 Ontario Regulation 453/07 requires that before a municipality can renew their drinking water license they must prepare and have Council approve a financial plan, as outlined in the Act.

The layout of the various financial statements are dictated by the Act and therefore do not show the full financial picture of the Town’s Water Department. Of note, transfers to reserve funds for future year capital projects and transfers to other Town departments are not included, while amortization, a non-cash transaction, is included.
The annual Water Department Budget generates revenue to fund the expenses required to operate, maintain and replace the water system in a way that meets all legislation as well as provide the best quality drinking water. As part of the annual budget process, water rates are established to fund the required water expenditures. As required by the Act this Financial Plan will be updated every five years.
